Theme Learning Question:

How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain?

 

Curriculum Coverage:

In Maths we will be looking at multiplying 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers, and how we can paritition bigger numbers to help break down and make our calculations easier. We will also look at how to measure perimeter of different shapes and begin to look at ordering, comparing proper and improper fractions.

 

In English, our focus book is Escape From Pompeii by Christina Balit. We will be building up our knowledge of grammar and vocabulary to improve consistency, as well as discussing how to structure, proof read and check for punctuation fixes and errors. This will all build up to writing our own first person narrative focusing on the past tense. 

 

This half term we will be learning about the Anglo-Saxons. We will explore what life was like for Anglo-Saxons, what people ate, what people wore and how people lived. We will also be learning about how the Anglo-Saxons invaded and settled in Britain.

 

In Science we will be learning about the role of our teeth and how we can look after them We will also be learning the different names and functions of human teeth and our digestive system.
