Theme Learning Question:

Why are our rainforests important to us? 

 

Curriculum Coverage:

In Maths we will be looking at Addition and Subtraction and Multiplication and division. Within Addition and Subtraction we will be learning how to use different methods to add and subtract 3 digit numbers. Within this area of maths, we will learning and practicing the 3,4 and 8 times table. We will be learning to solve a range of problem-solving lessons around multiplication and division. 

 

In English, our text is, 'The Winters Child'. Within our English lessons, we will be exploring the features of a fantasy story and we will be writing our own fantasy story based on a fable.  We will be learning how to use conjunctions and prepositions within our writing. 

 

In Science, we will be learning about 'Living things and their habitats' we will be exploring  what makes a living thing and we will research the different habitats that animals live in. This science topic will link to our theme this term and we will be learning about the animals that live in the Rainforest. 

 

Within our Theme lessons, we are learning about the Rainforest.

We will be learning about the different layers of the rainforest and the climate of the different Rainforest around the world.

 

RE sees us looking at a Hindu Focus, 'What does it mean to be a Hindu today?' We will be looking at the way Hindus worship, special festivals belonging to Hindus and Hindu daily life.
