In Maths this half term, we will be continuing to look at decimals. We will focus on key skills such as comparing, ordering and rounding decimals as well as solving word problems linked to decimals. After decimals, we will move on to recognising units of money and learning how to round money to the nearest pound. We will finish off the half term by looking at units of time and understanding how to convert time from 12 hour to 24 hour.
In English, our focus book is 'When the Giant Stirred' by Celia Godkin. Pupils will be practicing key skills such as fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and direct speech, all with the final aim to write their own first person narrative based on the book.
In Science, we are looking at states of matter. We will be focusing on how solids, liquids and gases can change their states through variety of processes and conducting experiments to observe how the states of matter can change given different variables applied to them.
