Spring 2

In Maths, we will be looking at fractions. Pupils will learn how to find equivalent fractions as well as simplifying fractions to their simplest form. We will also look at adding and subtracting fractions and begin to look at decimals before the Easter holidays.

In English we will be reading Blue John by Berlie Doherty. Our writing outcome will be to write a letter in a role as an expert containing explanation about cave formation. Within the topic, we will look at building a rich and varied vocabulary and an increasing range of sentence structures. We will also look at a variety of verb forms used correctly and consistently including the progressive and present perfect forms. We will use paragraphs to organise information and ideas around a theme.

For Science this term we will be looking at Electricity. Within this topic we will identify how electricity is produced, electrical appliances and the dangers around them. We will also create simple circuits looking at lighting a lightbulb as well as understanding what a conductor and an insulator is and testing different materials to find out what makes a good conductor or insulator.
