Who invaded England?

Curriculum Coverage:

In Maths we will be looking at Multiplication and division. Within Multiplication and division we will be learning how to use different methods to multiply a 2 digit number by a 1 digit number. This term we will also be learning about how to use money, we will learn how to add and subtract amounts of money to give change and use £ and p in practical contexts.

In English, our text is, 'The Stone Age Boy'. Within our English lessons, we will be exploring the features of a historical narrative and we will be writing our own story from the point of view of the boy.  We will be learning how to use inverted commas and the correct tenses within our writing.

Within our History  lessons, we are learning about Invaders and Settlers in England.  We will be learning about the Vikings: where they came from; where they invaded and settled; why they left Scandinavia and how we know about them. We will also be learning about the life of the Anglo Saxons in their settlements and the battles that took place between the two civilisations.

In Geography we will be learning how to use maps to locate counties and cities of the United Kingdom and we will find out why people in the past wanted to invade and settle in the area.

RE sees us looking at 'What kind of world did Jesus want?'. We will be exploring Christian stories from the Bible and interpreting how they show Christians to act today.
