How did people in the Stone Age survive?

Theme

Our focus this half term will be on Th Stone Age. Within our history lessons, we will explore what life was like in the Stone Age, what people ate, what people wore and how people lived. We will also be exploring Stone Age art (cave paintings) and we will use these to help us find out about the Stone Age period.

Maths

This half term in maths, we will continue to explore multiplication and division. We will look at multiplying and dividing 2 and 3 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers. We will also look at exploring perimeter, how to measure perimeter around regular and irregular shapes. We will also begin looking at fractions, and how we can order, compare proper and improper fractions.

English

This half term, our book is "Escape from Pompeii" by Christina Balit. Pupils will be learning how to structure their writing, as well as explore vocabulary and grammar linked to our story, and how it is applied in similar stories. Pupils will also explore how they can change their own grammar and vocabulary to create consistent and descriptive writing. This will also involve pupils learning to proof read their work for spelling and punctuation errors.
