Spring 2 News from Year 5

Dear Parents,

The topic for this half term is ‘Our Environment’. Over the unit we learn how more about our local environment, our planet and the effect we have on it. We will become a team of Eco warriors determined to reduce our waste and energy usage to improve our world!

We would be very grateful if your child has any books or toys at home linked to the topic that you are happy for them to share with the class.

I need one more person to join us on our trip on Friday 8th March - if you can come, please let me know!

Our PE sessions this term are to be confirmed in the first week back - children should have their PE kit at school every day as slots do change from time to time. For safety reasons we follow the ‘NO jewellery’ policy for PE so please can I ask that children with pierced ears do not wear earrings to school on PE days. Children who do wear earrings to school will be asked to remove them before taking part in the lesson. This term we will be doing rugby and hockey outside so children will need plain black tracksuit trousers and top as well as shoes appropriate for being on the field.

I value your support and comments so do not hesitate to contact me if you have a concern. I will be available in the playground every day before and after school and the partnership book also has a space for you to pass on any important messages.

We are looking forward to another really exciting topic.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Bacon
