Forest School

Forest School

A Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning.

The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.

Y6 attended Forest Schools this year and developed:

  • Self Awareness
  • Self-Regulation
  • Intrinsic motivation
  • Empathy
  • Good social communication skills
  • Independence
  • A positive mental attitude through increased self-esteem and confidence

A huge thank you to Miss Percival who accompanied them whatever the weather!

In the forest environment, young people can learn boundaries for their behaviour, establish their confidence, become self-motivated and learn to work as a team.

Research now backs up what forest school practitioners have known all along – that children and young people are stimulated by the outdoors and typically experience, over time, an increase in their self-belief, confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, communication, problem-solving skills and emotional well-being.

Hope you enjoy the photos.
