MARCH NEWSLETTER

Welcome to the March newsletter and hopefully the start of some brighter weather and lighter evenings at last!

PTA NEWS

The children enjoyed the Spring Disco and the Glo-sticks and the event managed to raise funds for the PTA. We hope all the Mothers, Aunties and Grandmas all enjoyed the Mother’s Day gifts purchased by the children. These gifts raised further funds for the PTA, so thank you to everyone for their support and special thanks go to the PTA committee members who organised both events and to the parents and staff who helped. The PTA raised £364 for the disco and £411 for Mother’s Day. Funds raised go to support additional school projects.

POWER CHALLENGE DAY/WORLD BOOK DAY

What a fabulous day of reading and run. One of the highlights was all of the staff reading to each class and running from class to class on the ring of a bell.

STEM WEEK

Science week saw the children take part in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths activities. Our STEM Ambassadors really added to the day and the children thoroughly enjoyed the science workshops.

The Young Innovators Challenge saw boats being designed and floated, marble runs created and even eggs being parachuted in the playground whoever said Science wasn’t fun!

Thank you to Mrs Kay for organising such a brilliant week for us all.

EASTER SERVICE

The term finished with a beautiful Easter Service in St Paul’s Church including a stunning performance from the Choir and of course the finale of Spring Chicken! We hope you enjoyed the Art left in the Church representing our Easter Story.

DUKES BARN

Year 4 had an absolutely amazing time in Dukes Barn, despite the snow. They had snowy adventures and even made snow holes. They experienced caving and weaselling and were very brave on the climbing wall and zip curves. With quizzes and campfires and even a birthday cake, the trip was a real success.

YEAR 1/5 FIRE PRESENTATION

The Fire Service came to talk to Y1 and Y5 about fire safety and to help children realise their responsibility in keeping themselves and others safe.

They were able to tell us what they would need to do if every caught in an emergency involving fire or smoke. This is an excellent opportunity for our children. Please ask them all about it.

MAYOR VISIT TO YEAR 4

As part of their Government topic, Year 4 had a visit from the Mayor and learnt all about their responsibilities and duties and some of their essential protocols.
