Magnificent minibeasts!

Today, we braved the rain and went on a minibeast hunt in our school grounds! We explored the outdoor environment and searched high and low to find some very interesting creatures. We thought carefully about where the minibeasts could possibly live and why they may choose certain habitats. We were also very surprised to find a rather large creature under one rock... see if you can spot the toad who was nestled comfortably in the mud! Although at first it was difficult to tell whether our friend was a frog or a toad, after returning to the classroom we did a spot of research and learnt about the differences between frogs and toads... and we came to the conclusion it was definitely a toad!

After carefully investigating and observing lots of different creatures up close we placed them safely back in their natural environment. What a fantastic afternoon of learning!
