Stone Age to Romans Day 2017

Year 3 had a fantastic trip back in time when a theatre group came to visit. In the morning, they learnt all about The Stone Age through the eyes of a Stone Age man and an Archaeologist. They became archaeologists and dug up artefacts from The Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age. After lunch, they were transported to The Roman Times where they were given a snapshot of what life was like then.  The afternoon started with the story of Romulus and Remus. The children then met a Roman slave leader and a Consul for Rome where they learnt all about the slave trade and how laws were passed in Roman times. They were taught about the Emperors Julius Caesar, Claudius and Nero and had to prepare their own freeze frames depicting each of their reigns. It was a brilliant day and the children loved taking on many different roles and dressing up as characters from the different ages.
