Children may bring wellies or snowboots to change into at breaks - make sure they are named. 4+ have their own school wellies to change into.

Autumn 2 Welcome Back

Dear Parents,

Welcome back! I do hope you have all had a lovely half term break.

Our new topic is Spies and Detectives. We will be working hard creating alarm systems for top-secret files, learning about police around the world and stories that raise issues and dilemmas. We will also be solving the crime of who stole Mrs Hurst’s Ipad using chromatography.

Later in the term, we will be taking part in a Spies and Detectives Workshop.

Leaps and Ladders

In English, our new Learning Leaps focus on sentence construction.

Our Reading Leaps this term focus on inference. Guided reading will continue to take place daily in class. Please also continue to read with your child as much as possible.  I know how keen they all are to earn their POWER points.

In Maths, we are focusing on addition and subtraction.

Homework and spellings will continue to be given out on Friday and due in the following Friday, unless stated otherwise. We now have P.E on Wednesday and Friday.

Please continue to feel free to approach me before 9 am and after school with any concerns. Again, if any parents have a particular skill or interest in any of our topics please do contact me! It would be a pleasure to have your input.

Wishing you all another lovely half term,

Mrs Rivers
