Twelve year 3 children, 6 girls and 6 boys, took part in the Sainsbury’s School Games inter school tri-golf tournament. This is a tournament where children are required to complete different activities based around golf. They play with a plastic chipping wedge and putter with a hard plastic ball. The children are required to make different types of shot some with power and others with more finesse. These activities are performed in a relay format with each child taking their turn. This adds a time constraint to the performance and can create some weird and wonderful shots.

Once the children had gotten used to the activities and what was required of them they performed extremely well. This being the first inter-school competition for some of these children did not diminish their competitive spirit.  The children worked and played very hard but what was most impressive was how they continued to have fun even when things got tough.

It was is very clear that in this year 3 group there are a lot of future sport stars who are keen to do well for their school. Well done year 3!
