St Paul’s links with Gondar, Ethiopia

We have launched our link today with Kebele 19 Elementary School

in Gondar which is in Northern Ethiopia.

The school is a large elementary school with more than 1200 pupils, and as it lacks the resources and facilities to cope with these numbers, it runs a shift system, like many schools across Ethiopia. This means that half the student population attend for 4 hours in the morning, and the other half attend for 4 hours in the afternoon.

It's fantastic that we are able to involve our whole school in this fabulous Link. Evidence from best practice suggests this approach will achieve the greatest global learning outcomes across the school and will better support wider school improvement. We will be working in partnership with the Global Learning Programme to embed the Link and our global learning across the school and curriculum.

Our 'Landscape of my Village ' art is being used as our starting point for shared learning.

The children have all had an insight into life in Gondar – take a look at home if you are interested.
