Our Eco team successfully co-ordinated our ECO CHALLENGE DAY on Thursday 1st October.

All lessons were suspended and classes took on ECO challenges whilst the team carried out a full ECO Schools review and formed an action plan to gain our ECO School Green Flag Award.

Each class created their own ECO code, a sort of mission statement to demonstrate, in a clear and imaginative way, our school's commitment to improving its environmental performance.

We wanted one that would be memorable and familiar to everyone in the school.

The Eco-Code had to list the main objectives of our Action Plan, covering real actions that we intend to carry out.

We felt it was crucial for our pupils to develop the Eco-Code to give them a greater sense of responsibility towards the values the code represents.

Year 4’s code was chosen as the best one for our school. Look out for it published around school very soon!

The team also challenged every class to plan at least one campaign to participate in throughout the coming year e.g. Switch Off Fortnight.

Every Class then agreed actions for the ECO schools energy topic and also chose an additional topic to tackle and action during the day.
